June 21 Severe Storm Risk and Claudette A Tropical Storm Again

There is a very tropical feel to the atmosphere today. Temps remained in the 70s and the dew points are up there as well. This afternoon many areas will have a heat index pushing 100ºF.

To our south, Claudette has regained Tropical Storm status as it exits off of the North Carolina coast. This will move out into the Atlantic, but is influencing our set up.

An approaching cold front will work on the unsettled atmosphere to kick off some severe storm today and a band of heavy rain tomorrow. Then we will get back to pleasant weather by Wednesday.
