Wednesday May 26 2021

The heat will return for one day. As we aim for the 90s today, a strong cold front will approach. The atmosphere is primed to produce multiple rounds of thunderstorms with the risk to turn severe this afternoon through evening. Then we continue to make up for our rain deficit with a wet and cool set up Friday.

Morning Surface Weather

The early fog and clouds will be replaced by brief heating. This will help fuel the cold front and severe storms on the way.  The air mass that follows will be much cooler with a rain track arriving Friday.

Weekend Storm Animation

This pattern is very unlike late May.

Cool Rain Arriving Friday, and will turn heavy at times.

Lingering showers Saturday, then some clearing by Memorial Monday.  A storm off the coast will keep the beaches cool and rip currents the shore line.

Sunshine State Of Mind

I am done with the cold and snow (for the season). I am embracing my wife’s mantra of Sunshine State of Mind.

This was designed by Shannon Berk and we will be wearing it through spring and to the beach.

Double Benefit: Proceeds will be split between our nonprofit Just In Power Kids and the development of my new weather website. That has been scheduled to be ready to launch in May.
