Monday Evening May 24
Today lived up to expectations, almost. The high temperatures were just after midnight. Baltimore climate data will mark this day with a high of 82ºF. It was that warm at 12:14 AM. But temps dropped all day, and in the afternoon ended up in the 50s and 60s. That was averaging 30 degrees cooler than Sunday afternoon.
Monday ‘AFTERNOON’ Observations
Tuesday will turn the temps back up a little, then surge back into summer heat on Wednesday. If you have plans, that is the day to be concerned with.
Monday Evening Surface Weather
Tuesday Wind Shift
As that frontal boundary moves back through. The winds will swing to the south-southeast. But we will still have leftover moisture to deal with.
Tuesday Cloud Cover
Expect s mostly cloudy sky, with a few breaks of sun in the afternoon to help with the gradual warm up.
Tuesday High Temperatures
We should return to the 70s, with a chance to get back to 80ºF farther inland.
Wednesday High Temperatures
We get back to the heat as temps aim for 90ºF
Wednesday Storms
That heat ahead of the next cold front will bring on a few lines of thunderstorms.
The first push in metro areas may be between 3 and 5 PM. Then more to follow.
Wednesday Radar Simulation
Noon to Midnight
I do not like to lock in specifics with this product. Just a guide to what we can expect. This means a few lines of thunderstorms from early afternoon through midnight.
Note: I will share a more detailed timeline in my next report.
Looking Ahead To The Weekend
Another wave of Low Pressure will ride over our region. This should bring in developing rain Friday afternoon into Saturday. The weekend may not be a total washout, but it will be cool with scattered showers Saturday into Sunday morning.
I will have more details on the rain timeline and my 7-Day Forecast in my morning post. See you then.
Sunshine State Of Mind
I am done with the cold and snow (for the season). I am embracing my wife’s mantra of Sunshine State of Mind.
This was designed by Shannon Berk and we will be wearing it through spring and to the beach.
Double Benefit: Proceeds will be split between our nonprofit Just In Power Kids and the development of my new weather website. That has been scheduled to be ready to launch in May.
