Saturday April 24 2021
The sunny start this morning is a bit of a tease. A storm near the Gulf is on the way, and it will increase out clouds today. Overall, the weather today will be OK for outdoor plans.
Rain moves in by this evening, and it will be heavy overnight. There may be some rumbles of thunder around midnight. The rain will move out early Sunday morning, followed by strong winds but clearing. Then summer heat is on the way.
Morning Surface Weather
Here is the storm heading our way. Plan for sun to dim behind thickening clouds. The rain will follow by evening.
Storm Path
This wind plot shows the center of Low Pressure Sunday morning after crossing central Maryland.
Strong NW winds will develop following the storm.

- Showers will move arrive south of Washington by 5 PM, then cross metro Baltimore during the evening.
- Heaviest rain will be overnight.
Rainfall Forecast
There is a tendency for over expectations of rainfall. Considering that, we can still plan for an average of
0.50 to 1.00 inch of rain for much of the region. That will help any new grass or plantings.

Temperature Outlook
The balance of nature really shows itself this week ahead. After the late chill and snow showers we just had, the jet stream wil flip and bring in the 80s by Wednesday… although some areas could see that a day earlier. It looks like spring id finally here to stay.
Sunshine Sate Of Mind
I am done with the cold and snow (for the season). I am embracing my wife’s mantra of Sunshine State of Mind.
This was designed by Shannon Berk and we will be wearing it through spring and to the beach.
Double Benefit: Proceeds will be split between our nonprofit Just In Power Kids and the development of my new weather website. That has been scheduled to be ready to launch in May.
