Wednesday April 21 2021
It is hard to wrap up today’s weather in a single statement. This morning will be warm, but turning breezy with showers. A line of showers will develop, followed by a squall line that may produce severe storms but lasting less than half an hour.
Definitely bring a coat with you for the trip home later. If your kids have after school sport, it will be very chilly!
Tonight temperatures will drop below freezing inland, and BWI could get close to the record low Thursday morning.
Snow will begin falling in western Maryland this morning, and a few flurries could reach the western suburbs before this is all done.
Severe Storm Risk: Today
Criteria for a storm to be considered ‘severe’ includes winds over 58 mph, large hail over 1 inch, or an isolated tornado.
Freeze Warning: Tomorrow Morning
Morning Surface Weather
We call this a Double Barrel Cold Front. They will team up as they cross Maryland today, resulting in the developing storms and dramatic drop in temperatures.

Sunshine Sate Of Mind
I am done with the cold and snow (for the season). I am embracing my wife’s mantra of Sunshine State of Mind.
This was designed by Shannon Berk and we will be wearing it through spring and to the beach.
Double Benefit: Proceeds will be split between our nonprofit Just In Power Kids and the development of my new weather website. That has been scheduled to be ready to launch in May.
