Monday March 9 2021
Today is the day we begin our false spring. I keep saying that only to make sure you are aware it will not last (this time). If you have been waiting for the warm weather, embrace the next few days as we reach the 60s and even some 70s. By Friday, the next cold front brings in some rain showers, then a the trend to colder weather through the weekend and next week.
Morning Surface Weather
Clouds from a disturbance along the boundary that shifts the winds to our warmer air mass.
Satellite Loop
This morning a band of clouds with the short to warmer winds. The sky will continue to have a mix sun and cirrus clouds this afternoon.
Morning Temperatures
Not as cold as the last few mornings. You may have some clouds, but those will give way to sun over the next few hours.
Afternoon Temperatures
- Normal High in Baltimore: 51ºF
- Record High in Baltimore: 82ºF in 2016
Forecast spread for BWI from 64ºF to 66ºF, which is roughly 15 degrees above average. So watch the results at BWI to see if we get that first local bias on their thermometer to see if they reach the upper 60s today.
If you live near the water, it will likely remain in the 50s.

Temperature Outlook
If you have been keeping track, today already shows the trend for our warm up to be warmer… With that mindset, we could push deeper into the 70s on Thursday.
The cool down that begins on Friday will get reinforcements next week.
