Friday March 5 2021
We are back into a late winter air mass. It will be sunny, but windy and you will feel it. Temperatures will struggle to make the lower 40s this afternoon and weekend, then the jet stream will flip and surge in spring.
I wanted to be first to say it this past week, and now the models are catching up: Bringing in the 70s. With long range forecasting in our region, we need to be careful about winter storms. However, with warm ups I have learned being aggressive usually plays out.
Morning Surface Weather
A quiet weather pattern with strong, but chilly winds. Otherwise we remain dry.

Note: The hourly temps usually are reported about 10 minutes earlier. These were recorded at 6:50 AM just as the sun was rising, so these are close to the daily lows.

Notice the colder trend through the weekend, then a big warm up next week, followed by another shot of cold air.
Temperature Outlook
This weekend will feel like winter. Next week we aim for the 70s. I have said it for a few days, now the modeling is catching up…. But beware of March warm ups as they ofter are followed by a dramatic cool down.
