Winter Preview: Advisories Tonight For Mountain Snow and Wind On Delmarva

Sunday Evening November 1 2020

I am heading on a snow chase to Deep Creek Lake in western Maryland.  The first real snow of the season is expected tonight into Monday morning, where a Winter Weather Advisory is in place. I have a snow timeline and two model forecast maps below.

I am hoping to arrive and go Live on Facebook before 9 PM to show you.

This same cold air mass may bring some flurries to the inland suburbs of Baltimore Monday morning and strong winds all day.  A Wind Advisory is in place for Delmarva, but most of the area will feel it.

Here’s a look at why I am making the drive to share snow with you, and what you can expect by you.

Snow Advisory

Garrett County is the only one in Maryland included. This is where I am heading for the snow chase.

Wind forecast and your local page link below.

Cecil County and Northern Delmarva area included here. But metro Baltimore and southern PA will still have winds 25 to 40 mph

Based on Upper Level conditions, there is support for some flurries in the western and northern suburbs of Baltimore Monday morning.

Snow Forecasts

Often Computer Models have trouble with these Lake Effect events.

These map forecasts are lower than the Advisory forecast for 3 to 5 inches.

The ‘Kuchera Ratio’ adjusted the liquid to snow based on temperature and is the best accurate assessment we have.

It is going to feel like winter for sure. The strong gusty winds will bring the Wind Chill to feel about 10 degrees cooler than what is on the thermometer.
