Friday October 16 2020

A cold front is moving through this morning. This will bring in colder air for all of us, but the rain will not be evenly spread.  This morning there have been two bands of rain, with the heavy band south and east of I-95. That as where rain will be most steady and heavy today. Inland areas will be more spotty, but remaining damp.

I am trying something different this morning. Here is a look at the rain set up and timeline first, then the temperature part of the forecast below.  The really cold air arrives Saturday morning.

A Freeze Watch is in place for western Maryland, but frost is very possible just west and north of Baltimore.

Morning Satellite Loop

This line of clouds is very pronounced. But watch the moisture ahead of that being pulled north. This is where the main band or rain is coming from.

Radar Snapshot

The steady and heavy rain has been south of Washington and towards Delmarva. This will be crossing I-95 and reach metro Baltimore, while western suburbs will get much less in spotty showers.

The bulk of the rain will be along and east of I-95. Showers to the west may get a second surge this evening as the main cold air arrives.
