As of Tuesday morning, the biggest news on Hurricane Sally is the slow forward speed to nearly a crawl at 2 mph. This will expand the amount of time impacting the shrilling of the Gulf region, increasing the rain forecast up to 30 inches in some spots.
The slow down means it will turn inland farther east, with the worst missing New Orleans. But targeting Mississippi and Alabama.

The center of the projections are now well east of New Orleans. This is due to the slower forward movement, and it could still drift for a while. That makes the inland impact subject to other weather systems. For now it appears it will remain in the SouthEast US.

The forecast track would funnel water from the east into Lake Pontchartain putting a full test of the water pump system in New Orleans.
Rainfall Forecast
A wide range of 10 to 20+ inches forecast. The heaviest would be along and east of the center. If the storm slows down, more could fall.
