September 2 Weather Muggy With Showers Today And Severe Storm Risk Tomorrow

Uncomfortable weather will be with us for a few days. This morning some rain showers have ushered in muggy air and you will feel the difference! Some drizzle may linger for a few hours, then rain showers this afternoon. There is a slight risk for severe storms today, then an increased risk tomorrow. Nicer weather will arrive Friday into the holiday weekend.

Morning Set Up

A lot of moisture is in the eastern US. Notice that storm cluster in east Texas… The region into Arkansas could see up to 6 inches of rain today. They were just hit with Hurricane Laura last week.  That is also feeding into the upper level air flow spreading our way, and may enhance the storm risk for us tomorrow.

Temperatures 

The dew point levels are high, so when we reach the upper 80s, it will fell like the 90s this afternoon.
