August 29 Severe Storm Risk Dominates Weather On Our Day With Laura

Saturday August 29 2020

Today will be humid and feel tropical as the remains of the once powerful hurricane Laura pass by our region. This morning has already been active with storms. We will have some breaks, but the risk of more storms turning severe will last into the afternoon. Then a much cooler Sunday, with more rain next week.

Severe Storm Risk

The main risk today will be flash flooding, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes.

Alert Reminder: A ‘Watch’ means it might happen and would be issued for a 6 hour period. A ‘Warning’ woudl be issued when it is happening, usually for 30 to 45 minutes, and including specific towns.
