That will burn off, but the atmosphere is primed for strong to severe storms today after 2 PM and tomorrow. Both bring the potential for cells to turn severe. A rain timeline slider is below.

Tropical Storms Update
Marco has been downgraded to a tropical storm and will scape the southern Louisiana border tonight. This has peaked and will remain a weaker storm as it impacts land.
Laura is now the stronger storm and expected to reach Category 2 or 3 hurricane intensity when it reaches Louisiana Wednesday night. That storm is now poised to bring us rain by the weekend. I will have a complete tropical weather update after the 8 AM advisory.
Local Weather Today
After the morning fog burns off, we will have a hot and humid afternoon with storms developing. The high temperatures will be subjected to what time the storms arrive. The expectation in metro areas is for storms between 2 PM and 5 PM.
