Tropical Storm Laura Named Next Up Is Marco And Both Into The Gulf

Friday August 21 2020

The 11 AM Advisory from the National Hurricane Center has official named Tropical Storm Laura (formerly Tropical Depression 13). The winds were 45 mph and it was still 210 miles from the Leeward Islands. This is now expected to cross Puerto Rico, then south of The Florida Keys and Ito the Gulf of Mexico on Monday. It may reach hurricane intensity.

Tropical Depression Fourteen has 35 mph winds, but expected to be upgraded and named Tropical Storm Marco later today or tomorrow. This is expected to cross Cozumel and Cancun, then into the Gulf of Mexico Sunday. It may reach hurricane intensity.

Both are expected to make a historic simultaneous appearance in the Gulf of Mexico and landfalls on the US early next week.
