Wednesday August 12 2020
A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for our area today. Slow moving storms will develop after 2 PM and could drop between 1 to 3 inches of rain. This also includes the entire route of my Maryland Trek Day 4 between Frederick, Ellicott City, and near BWI. Today is my wedding anniversary and this route goes through where my wife and I first met, had our first date, and got engaged in Sykesville. We want to celebrate but our team will be racing to outrun storms.
Here is a quick look at the rainfall forecast today, plus a look at our Maryland Trek Day 4
Rainfall Potential
Not everyone will get in on the heavier rain. But where storms form and linger, there could be 1 to 3 inches falling in a short period of time.

This is guidance (not the promise) from the NAM 3 Km model. Note, there will be a band of rain developing between 2 and 3 PM that may linger for a few hours over the same spots.
