Friday August 7 2020

One more day in this pattern will keep us humid and bring in locally heavy rain. The storms will develop this afternoon mainly in the mountains and across southern Pennsylvania. This cluster will drop south tonight, with some heavy rain bands sliding through central and southern Maryland overnight and into early Saturday morning. Any of the thunderstorms can produce 1 to 3 inches of rain, which would lead to flash flooding.

We will get a break this weekend, then back to the lower 90s early next week.

Flash Flood Watch

The National Weather Service included much of our area, but not southern PA. That is where I expect the heaviest rain this afternoon and evening. If you live between Gettysburg, York, and Lancaster you may get flood advisories issued later.

Central and Southern Maryland will get the heaviest storms tonight.

My ‘bonus’ daughter made this map of Maryland a few years ago. We brought it back for needed positivity. Now on her pick of tanks, and this cool Maryland T for men or women.
