July 26 Weather High Heat Returns Plus Hurricanes Hitting Texas And Hawaii

We are about to get back to high heat and on target for the hottest July on record in Baltimore. It’s hard to say another heat wave since we only had a brief break.  Out of the 25 days this month so far, BWI has reported 90ºF or higher 20 times. We are about to add more to that. Our forecast temperatures and slight chance for showers is below. A  break may come later this week.

The tropics are also on record pace with two separate states getting a hurricane very early in the tropical season.  Hurricane Hanna hit south Texas yesterday, and is now in Mexico downgraded to a tropical storm. But the flooding rain continues.  In the Pacific, Hurricane Douglas was once a Cat 4, is expected to hit Hawaii’s northern islands as a Cat 1.
