It’s been no day at the beach! Anyone vacationing in Ocean City, MD got changed of recently with a large cluster do storms. Back home for the rest of us, it has been quite muggy today. I just put 17 miles of (Maryland Trek) training on the roads, and it was a challenge. But the temperatures have been held in check in the 80s.
That takes some of the energy out of the air, but there is some instability that will be working out with storms through this evening. These will mostly be typical summer storms, but some may turn severe. The risk factors today will be damaging winds and large hail. Any slower moving cells could lead to isolated pockets of flash flooding.

Doppler Radar Snapshots
This is what we call popcorn storms. They pop up in a scattered pattern with the afternoon heat. They are all moving to the southeast about 15 mph.
Beach Rain
Those lucky to be vacationing around Ocean City finally got chased off by this cluster.

The modeling continues to be underplaying a lot of the cells. Sponsor please take this with a grain of salt. There is more action as seen in the snapshot above. But the overall idea we can get from this is:
- Cells will be moving to the southeast.
- Peak activity will be 4 PM to 7 PM, then fading quickly this evening.
