Monday July 6 2020
We are still in a pattern that will bring hot days and some strong storms with a risk some turn severe. The factors include temperatures in the 90s, dew points in the 70s, a frontal boundary lingering nearby, and the stubborn upper level Low off of the coast of New England. The spin aloft will once again ignite that boundary and then push it southward into Maryland.
Thunderstorm Risk
There is a high chance of storms developing across the region. Some, but not all of these storms will turn severe.
The main threat will be damaging winds over 60 mph, large hail, dangerous lightning, flash flooding, and an isolated tornado.

This model is NOT perfect! It is a suggestion of the development and movement. In recent days, storms have been more widespread and developed a few hours earlier than shown here.
Plan for storms anytime AFTER 3 PM today!
The main complex will drop south to southwest, but interact with some other storms moving west to east. The convergence and sheer can lead to some storms starting to rotate.

Maryland Strong Love ❤️
My ‘bonus’ daughter made this map of Maryland a few years ago. We brought it back for needed positivity. Now on her pick of tanks, and this cool Maryland T for men or women.

Looking Ahead
The risk of daily thunderstorms will pulse each afternoon and evening with daily heat. However the activity will be lower Wednesday, then back up by Friday and Saturday as an organized Low Pressure will move up the coast into the weekend.
