Friday July 3 2020

Today matched the hottest day of the year, at least in Baltimore. The high temperature was 96ºF, tying the mark set on June 3, and making for the 12th day in the 90s this year.  Now we watch a backdoor cool front, dropping from the north to bring a little relief with some showers and a shift in winds.

Evening Radar Snapshot

This line of rain may bring a quick drink to the lawns and gardens, but not nearly enough. This may reach Westminster to Towson by 10 or 11 PM. It’s more like rain into Harford and Cecil County, then across Delmarva tonight.  Sprinklers still needed this weekend.

July 3 Friday evening radar

This line of showers dropping out of PA into northeastern Maryland and mainly across Delmarva was shown in my morning forecast. The main advantage of this will shift the winds for July 4, so temps will be a little cooler. A breeze off the ocean will keep it in the 70s for the beaches of Delaware and Ocean City.

There may be some showers in parts of metro Baltimore, but more likely into Harford, Cecil, Kent Counties and dropping across Delmarva tonight.

The NAM Model time was off by close to 2 hours, so I adjusted the product timing here.
