June 27 Weather Severe Storms Risk This Weekend

The humidity is back. First and foremost that is the main play in making it feel muggy and feeding into more storms. The weather has been active in our region just about every day for more than a week. Today, there is a risk for severe thunderstorms in northern Maryland through Pennsylvania. Here is where storms could reach levels with damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornados. Any cell will be able to drop dangers lightning and downpours.

This threat will shift south on Sunday.

One round of rain already passed through this morning. This was the warm front and you will feel the different air mass today. The added moisture will contribute to more clouds. So the development of storms later today will depend on how much sun is available to heat the air up again.
