June 24 Weather Less Humid Means Less Storms

After a routine of daily storms, we are about to get a break in the action. West winds will bring a drop in humidity and dramatically cut the chance of showers for a few days. There will be a few that pop up, but most of us won’t see them.

Dew Point Temperatures

One true measure of the refreshing air on the way is the dew point temperature. This is a measure of moisture in the air with the level that fog would form if the air dropped to that level. Mid 60s and 70s are muggy, but noticeably more comfortable in the 50s.

Showers may pass through southern Maryland and Ocean City

The old front may still linger across southern Maryland. This will bring a 40% chance for a shower or T’storm in the evening or at night.

 

Looking Ahead

Have you head about SAL- The Saharan Air Layer. This is the dust storm from Africa that has crossed the Atlantic. It happens every year, but this was a big one. That dust is expected to turn up the Gulf of Mexico and reach us over the weekend. It will limit storm development and make for very colorful sunrises  and sunsets.
