Tuesday June 23 2020
The eruption of storms yesterday brought some flooding and tree damage around Ellicott City and other parts of central Maryland. This continued the trend of storms to overactive the computer model guidance. They have been developing a few hours earlier, covered more areas, and resulted in stronger cells. As I share another simulation slider, please consider that many happen again.
The good news: After today, we should have a drop in humidity and break in storm risk until Sunday.
Morning Weather
- Locally we have areas of thick fog, especially in areas hit by rain yesterday. This will burn off during the morning.
- The next storm line is in Ohio and will reach us this evening and tonight.
- In the North Atlantic: Tropical Depression Four will help push high waves and rip currents on the beaches.
Afternoon Temperatures
With the higher humidity, the Heat Index will push into the mid 90s in some areas.

Reminder: This model is a guide, but has under estimated the storms recently. Bias includes storms verifying two hours earlier, and more widespread than indicated.

My ‘bonus’ daughter made this map of Maryland a few years ago. We brought it back for needed positivity. Now on her pick of tanks, and this cool Maryland T for men or women.
