June 22 Weather More Humid With A Line Of Storms To Track

Monday June 22 2020

Over the past few days I have mentioned that the computer modeling was not doing a good job simulating the storms. This was because they were air mass thunderstorm that develop with the heat of the day. This past weekend that happened hours earlier than models suggested.

Today, more heat and humidity will interact with a disturbance located in Ohio this morning. This is a physical system we can track, which will help identify the timing for our region. There may be some additional pop up showers, but the main line will show up in the mountains after 2 PM and reach metro areas this evening. These are likely to fall apart when they approach the Chesapeake Bay.

The circulation in Ohio shows up well on the radar. This will spin east and trigger more storms in the Maryland mountains early this afternoon.
