June 16 Weather Spectacular Sunrise And Satellite With Rain Reaching Southern Maryland

The ‘cut off’ Low is the Carolinas is slowly creeping north. It has made for a spectacular satellite loop this morning, which highlights the circulation and easterly winds bringing rain into the lower Delmarva. While rain has reaches parts of souther Maryland this morning, there will be a break, before more rain develops. This will work its way north over the next few days.

Sunrise Photos across Central Maryland

Being on the edge of the clouds has made for a spectacular sunrise across central Maryland. Check out these two photos from Timothy Butz and Jeff Perkins. Look closely and you will see bright line above the sun. That is called a solar pillar.

Morning Satellite Loops

Being on the northern edge of the clouds has helped allow the low angle sun over the horizon to display this colorful sky. Notes that sunrise was at 5:40 AM today.

This is just as impressive. Watch the circulation, the ripples in the clouds, and the shadow for the higher clouds across North Carolina.
