Sunday June 14 2020
Today is Flag Day and you will be able to see them flapping in the breeze. We are still caught in-between a stalled front on the coast and the upper level Low in the Midwest. The core is still expected to swing to our south, keeping most of the rain there. But with the increasing wind being pulled in from the ocean, more clouds and some showers have shown up this morning.
We are still dealing with poor computer guidance, so there are subtle shifts that can make a difference day to day in our pattern. More clouds have been expected, but the light rain showers might be a surprise to some.
Morning Low Temperatures
Look how chilly the temperatures got this morning. The clouds moved in a leveled off the drop, or we could have ended up colder.
Yes, there area. few in the 40s and many lower 50s just inland to the north of Baltimore.
Morning Radar Snapshot
A few light rain showers are moving to the east and northeast. This cluster was not initialized well on the short range modeling. In short, it was not seen to be this robust. So I need to keep in the chance for a rain shower for the west and north side of the cities up to noon.
Afternoon Forecast
The surface winds will be stronger on Delmarva, but we will notice that cool breeze with more clouds mixed in today.
Temperatures will be below average. After morning rain, it will remain in the 60s in the mountains. The strong winds will hold temps near 70 by the ocean.

Rain Forecast Animation
The rain forecast in this animation is between Sunday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon. You will notice the rain I mentioned above is not shown nearby. The focus here is the bulk of the rain tasing to our west and south. But it will start to creep back into southern Maryland on Tuesday. This will slowly shift north, and with poor computer guidance, there will be more need to keep checking in for updates from us humans.
