Thursday June 11 2020
Something really interesting is unfolding today. The air is thick this morning across much of our region. The cold front that will bring in a cooler weekend, is slowly moving across Maryland. A line of storms has erupted this morning, which was advertised on the models in my report yesterday. The interesting thing will be watching this fade mid day, then redevelop as it moves into southern Maryland this afternoon and evening.
Severe Storm Outlook
Our weather will turn much cooler into the weekend, but that front will stall, come back north, and could develop new storms spanning a few days over Maryland. Rain is expected to return on Sunday and could be with us most of next week.

Radar Loop
This is a thin line of rain. It will fade this morning, then reignite with some daytime heating. That is what we will track slowly crossing Maryland this afternoon.

That line is expected to fade this morning, but will still be identifiable.

With the heat of the day, this line will ignite with more heavy rain and some strong thunderstorms. The chance they turn severe is about 20%.

Looking Ahead
This is another interesting part of our forecast. A Trough in the Jet Stream will settle in the Northeast US. This will bring in cooler air, and allow the front to the south to lift back up north and stall over our region.
Storm Animation
The front will pass to our south, then return back north with rain on Sunday. Notice the increasing activity next week and possible area of Low Pressure forming. This will keep us with a wet and or storm y pattern for much of next week.
Temperature Outlook
With the upper level Low and this stalled from, temperatures will end up cooler for the period
