Today will be the peak of the heat with this weather chapter. The increasing humidity will bring the heat index close to 100ºF for some areas. All of this is fuel for strong or severe storms as a cold front approaches later today.
This is more of a threat for the mountains into the northern suburbs this evening. If you are in Annapolis, southern Maryland or across the Bay to the beaches this is not for you. But those areas will get their storms tomorrow.

Morning Satellite Loop
The remains of Cristobal are pushing north of Wisconsin into central Canada. This is the 4th time since 1900 a tropical system crossed that region. The circulation in the central US is the storm that Brough snow to parts of Colorado and Wyoming yesterday. This is helping the string warm and humid flow ahead pump north our way.
