May 30 Weather Plus SpaceX Launch Forecast And Video

One cold front has passed with only parts of the region getting in on the storms yesterday. The humidity has dropped a little, but it will be warm. One more system will bring a small chance of late day showers, then a dramatic drop in temps will bring on a few cool days.

In Florida, SpaceX and NASA are teaming up for another Falcon 9 rocket launch scheduled for 3:22 PM. The weather forecast and video stream is posted below.

Saturday Morning Satellite 

This view for a two hours after sunrise shows the morning clouds over eastern Maryland, but there will be some clearing. More clouds will form with the heat of the day.

 

Afternoon Showers?

There is a 30% chance of scattered showers between 4 PM and 8 PM. That means it is possible, but most of the region will remain dry. The best chance will be west and north of the cities.

Florida: SpaceX  Rocket Launch With NASA

3:22 PM- Scheduled Launch time. It is a hard time with no window.  If this is postponed, the next option will be Sunday May 31 at 3 PM.

The official forecast is 50% favorable. Here we can see the NAM 3 Km Model forecast showing some thunderstorms with the vicinity. There are multiple criteria that needs to be met. Even if it is dry on the launch pad, lightning within 10 miles of the site, and bas weather up the coast through Canada (if there is a needed abort) needs to be considered.

Tropics:

The National Hurricane Center has a 60% chance for development in the Atlantic. If this happens, it will be named Cristobal, the earliest on record for a 3rd named storm.
