The weather pattern is still dominated by the cut off Low and reverse wind flow for us off of the Atlantic Ocean. The cool winds will continue for a few more days, but some changes on the way. The slow moving system will finally bring in the rain Friday, with showers lingering into Saturday. Then a little warm up as we dry out locally for Memorial Day.

Weather Today
With High Pressure off of the coast, we continue with the cool east wind, but it is also blocking the rain from moving in one last day. Some sprinkles may reach west and south of Washington later today. But the main rain will be in the mountains and across Virginia and the Carolinas. We will get it tomorrow.
High Temperatures
Friday
Rain will be with us in the morning. It may be heavy at sunrise through noon as the block breaks. Then we will be stuck in a pattern with scattered showers through Saturday.

Forecast Animation
The rain finally arrives Friday, and then developing Low Pressure will keep the risk of rain with us through Saturday. By Sunday, dry weather will return, but daily rain showers may continue through next week in the mountains of western Maryland and The Ohio Valley.
Temperature Outlook
The good news is that we will finally warm up. Just a little for Memorial Day. But next week we should switch the wind flow and push temps back into the 80s.
