April 25 Weather Next Event Brings Heaviest Rain Sunday Morning

Good morning. If you woke up early enough, you might have seen thick fog. That is burning off and we will have sun for a few hours. But we will cloud up again during the afternoon as the next storm builds in.

I wanted to make a quick post this morning since we only have a few nice hours to get outside.  The timeline shows the main event will reach us Sunday morning, when some rumbles of thunder are possible, but the day may not be a complete washout.

Too Much Rain?

It may seem like the weather has been extra wet lately, but this is balancing out some very dry weather we had this winter. Baltimore’s BWI recorded 0.52″ of rain yesterday. We are above for the month, season, and year. But not as high as you might expect.

• April Rain: 3.79″ (1.23″ Above Normal)
• Since March 1: 6.84″ (0.38″ Above Normal)
• Since Jan 1: 12.93″ (0.52″ Above Normal)

Saturday Morning Weather

The main storm is spinning in the central US. This will bring up tropical moisture from the Gulf of Mexico to send our way.

Warmer with some sun and before the storm. The sky will be clouding up during the afternoon.

The arrival of showers for most of us will be around or just after sunset.

The push of heavy rain will be early Sunday morning. This will be the remnant of severe storms in the south. We could have rumbles of thunder, but should escape the severe threat.

Some spotty showers are possible in the afternoon. It’s more likely in southern PA, and another round of rain and T’showers could develop later in the afternoon and evening along and south of Route 50. This would include metro DC, Annapolis, and southern Maryland.
