Friday April 17 2020
We got the freezing temperatures as expected. In fact even Ocean City’s airport reported a temperature down to 30ºF. That is a rare accomplishment this late in April. Widespread readings on area thermometers this morning were in the mid 20s to lower 30s. We will get a quick bounce, but not much this afternoon, with clouds and rain on the way.
Wait until you see the snow forecast to our north….
Morning Freeze: Temperatures
Closer Look
Thew coldest reading was 25ºF in Taneytown MD and west of York PA at that local airport.
Snow Across Lower Lakes And Northeast
A large area of 3 to 6 inches of snow is expected between Chicago, Cleveland, Northern Pennsylvania, and central New England. I wanted to show this first to illustrate the cold impact on our pattern. But this same storm will bring us rain.

Some rain ‘showers’ this afternoon, but they will be spotty. The steady rain and snow will remain well to our north, and back into the mountains. We will get steady rain overnight.
