Wednesday April 1 2020

The same weather pattern that has kept us with clouds and chilly rain, has piled up the winds and water for some parts of the Chesapeake Bay. Coastal Flooding has been an issue and many advisories have been issued for the Southern Maryland Counties:

Weather Collection Lab

Starting Today I am coming the weather observed yesterday, climate data today, and this morning weather map separately. This is for kids collecting this data for weather reports. Most of the information is what I often post in my morning reports, but may get lost with all of the other info.

Wednesday Winds:

This morning the winds from the Northeast will keep the water sloshing down the Bay. But the wind will shift by this afternoon to the Northwest. This will lower the water levels but also try to help break up the clouds.

Some Rain Showers

The wind shift will come with some isolated rain showers. But the clouds will try to break up as well.

Temperatures

Thursday

Clearing the sky will allow temps to chill and develop frost inland. A freeze is likely farther west and north.

Morning

Afternoon

Strong winds will develop as the new air mass moves in. Gusts could reach 35 mph.

This is the type of set up where more clouds will develop mid day and afternoon farther west and north in the hills.

Temperatures will reach the 50s.

Looking Ahead

We should have a quiet and dry stretch into the weekend, as we warm up. Next week the 70s should take a strong hold.
