The clouds are still around and we will have some showers develop this afternoon. But the main story may be watching the severe storm potential this afternoon and how that could track over our region after midnight into pre-dawn Friday. Then we will have another day into the 70s, before turning colder this weekend.

Severe Storm Risk Today

NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center has highlighted the areas below with the best risk of storms turning severe. This does include a ‘Slight’ to ‘Enhanced’ risk through Nashville which was recently ravaged with deadly twisters.

It’s important to highlight that those prior storms came overnight.  This complex will lose energy overnight, but reach our region after midnight, just before sunrise. See the simulation below.
