Friday February 28 2020
It snowed over Baltimore this morning. That was the first thing I thought as I woke up and check the radar. If verified at BWI Airport, it would end the snowless February and the debate over old records that included one month that was changed. I will have a report on that this weekend. Check out the Doppler Radar this morning.
Doppler Radar Loop
The loop between 3:30 AM and 5:30 AM show the band of snow crossing central Maryland and passing over Baltimore.
The hourly observations this morning from BWI did NOT report snow. Was it the automated system or was it virga (flakes sublimating before reaching the ground). Regardless, there is a chance for more flurries or snow showers today. Under normal conditions this would not be big deal. But the messages I got yesterday from those that did see snow signaled the lack of snow makes anything falling worth reporting.
