Winter is finally back in parts of the area and thanks to a few web cams, we can see it live here. Garrett County in far western Maryland has mountains over 3,000 Ft in elevation, which makes them on average 10 to 15 degrees colder than metro areas near sea level. This also enhances cold air flowing in from the Great Lakes to produce snow. In a normal winter, this region gets over 100 inches of snow. This has not been a normal winter, so a wintry day is welcome to the Wisp ski area.

Wisp Ski Resort is also making snow to take advantage of the wintry weather. You can see that in the panning view of these web cams.
Thanks to my friends at Railey Realty, here are two live cams to view the snow today as it falls.
