Friday February 14 – Valentines Day 2020
If you love cold air, you have been reunited on this Valentine’s Day. It won’t last as long as your other relationships as this winter reminder will move out by the end of the weekend.
The weather today will be more typical of winter, but below average for the date. A few bands of flurries have reached into parts of Maryland but if you see any falling, they will not amount to much.
It is important to note that temperatures are still falling this morning, and will remain steady into the afternoon. The wind will play a big role making it feel like the teens a 20s. That pales in comparison to the core of this cold air. Check it out.

Looking Ahead
Could we possibly get snow next week? I only want to ‘suggest’ the modeling might be wrong in the long range as it has been most of this winter.
Tuesday will bring some rain with the next cold front. Beyond that, a wave of Low Pressure will ride along that front with some snow on Thursday. At this point, the GFS Model here places that south of Maryland. But the ‘error’ in the modeling has resulted in weather systems verifying farther north that plotted. I will watch this to see if there are any hints of the shift.
Wider View
Seeing this much snow in North Carolina this late in February doesn’t look right. I expect that Thursday system to shift north.
