Thursday Morning February 6 2020

A Flood Watch goes into effect today along I-95 including metro Baltimore and Washington and including all of Delmarva. Many areas will get over 2 inches of rain. Farther north, A Winter Weather Advisory in the mountains. Some of the lingering cold air will lead to icing at the start, but they will thaw as well.  Then end of this storm will bring moderate to heavy snow back to Western Maryland for Friday.

Morning Set Up

This could have been ‘our storm’ of the winter. But there is no cold air nearby. We are on the colder side of the storm, but the snow is confined to Upstate New York and New England. This allows the warmer air to try to flow into our region. Parts of Maryland will reach the 60s with this system.
