Tuesday October 29 2019

All focus this week has been on Halloween and the pending rain storm. Today will be a mild, seasonable, and uneventful day. But snow near Chicago is a signal of colder air waiting off to our west, and another snow event from Denver to the Great Lakes that will fuel our big cool down to start November. In between, we will get a heavy rain event on Halloween. I am still holding out hope for a few dry hours in the evening, but we will have to deal with gusty winds.

Halloween Rain —> slider

There should be two waves of rain. First during the day. A break for a few hours may time out during Halloween Evening, but it will be WINDY!  The second push of rain with the squall line may contain thunder along with wind gusts to 40 mph

Halloween Evening Wind

Even with a break in the rain, strong winds will gust 30 to 40 mph and bring in warmer temperatures.

Temperature Outlook

There was some debate about Halloween, but the strong winds will push temps into the 70s after all. Then the bottom falls out November 1. It looks like a colder start to next month and a pattern that could bring us an active start to winter. Next week I will begin my winter outlook series.
