A storm well off of the coast is still throwing some light showers on Delmarva this morning. However, any other lingering clouds west of the Bay will be clearing as High Pressure takes over. The afternoon will be nice and warmer temperatures should last into the weekend.

The only wrinkle will be a cold front into western Maryland on Saturday. That might bring some rain showers to Oakland for the 52nd Autumn Glory Festival (where I will be Grand Marshall of the parade). I will focus more on that in my next post.

National View

The second snow storm in a week out west is now moving into the northern plains states. Yes, it’s too early to talk snow here, but a signal of colder air spreading into the US. We still have a mild start to autumn locally, at least through next week.

Weekend Showers?

The suggestion here is for rain showers in the mountains Saturday afternoon. The best chance for Oakland at Autumn Glory will be between noon and 3PM. This may reach Hagerstown, but fall apart farther east. The same wave could spawn more showers on Delmarva Sunday afternoon and evening.

The official outlook has our region on the edge of mild weather next week, but the trend will be turning colder. By the end of next week, we could have the first frost of the season locally.
