Tuesday May 21 2019
Baltimore reported the first day above 90 degrees on Monday. It was 91ºF at BWI, but our weather will be cooler and quiet for a few days. Stormy weather still dominates the nation and now we have the first names storm of the Atlantic hurricane season. Subtropical Storm Andrea is well off of the coast near Bermuda. The only impact it may have with 40 mph winds may be higher waves along the Mid Atlantic beaches.
Meanwhile the complex of severe storms remains very active across the central plains states.
Severe Storms
With the high risk in place on Monday, 19 tornados were reported from northern Texas to Oklahoma and the corner of Nebraska and Missouri.
Storm Risk Today
The Enhanced Risk today is between Little Rock, AR to Kansas City, MO. Notice our region is quite, and will remain that way until the action returns Thursday.
