Sunday April 28 2019

The same storm that brought a few inches of snow to Chicago yesterday and snow to the Pennsylvania and New York border today, will be sending cold air our way. Once the clouds clear, temperatures will drop rapidly and reach the 30s for much of our area inland way from cities and the Chesapeake Bay.

A Frost Advisory is in effect tonight until 8 AM Monday. This means that sensitive vegetation could be harmed or killed if left uncovered overnight. Bring in your potted plants cover those in the ground with a tarp or garbage bag. This area includes:

Maryland: Northern Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, and Washington Counties.

Pennsylvania: Adams, York, and Lancaster

Frost Advisory

Frost May Occur In Other Counties

I think more area may be affected. Check out the NAM 3 Km model forecast low temperatures. I’ve highlighted the Advisory area in purple. But the 30s are also expected on Delmarva, away from the water. Even without an advisory, I would still follow the same precautions to protect your plants.

Why aren’t those areas in the Frost Advisory? They are under a different NWS Office. Click here to see more
