The Noreaster is moving away this morning but it definitely overachieved. Most of our area received between 2 and 3 inches of rain, with some spots even higher. We have a Flood Warning and Wind Advisory behind this storm. There will be more rain, perhaps with mixed snow or ice pellets this afternoon. Temperatures should remain nearly steady in the 40s to near 50ºFm but it will feel chilly with the winds. But first, here is a look at the radar loop.

The movement has slowed and still dumping on Delmarva. The last of the rain should be moving out between 8 and 10 AM.

The Low Pressure is slowly moving to the Northeast this morning. A cold front will help ignite strong showers and maybe some low based storms this afternoon. See that rain timeline below.

Flood Warning and Wind Advisory

Just about every waterway in central Maryland is under a Flood Warning, at least for the immediate banks overflowing. But large ponding on roads with poor drainage is also an issue. A Wind Advisory is also in place from Carroll County westward. Winds may gust to 50 mph. While the advisory does not include bay areas, there are wind restrictions on the bridges this morning.

Afternoon Showers/Storms

There may not be lighting and thunder, but a cluster of heavy showers will develop and drop locally heavy rain. Some may mix with snowflakes and or small hail. This is due to the low base of the freezing level. Ground temps will be too warm for a problem, but this may result in drivers needing to pull over to let it pass.
