Storms continue to overachieve in Maryland with rainfall records in Baltimore now pushing close to the all time wettest year. Another storm this week will add to that total and then mark the first taste of winter. Temperatures this weekend will be much colder, but before you think about it… the snow should be confined to the mountains. Another Nor’easter next week will be a reminder of Atmospheric Memory and reinforce the cold air.

Outlook: Winter Pattern

The jet stream shows the dominant flow of colder air with next week’s storms. Look at that blue, showing the trough and unsettled chilly air. That may be the first chance for at least flurries locally.
