Monday October 15 2018

This may come as a surprise, but the Baltimore area only had 4 days of rain this month. That is before today.  The rainfall has also been below average for a chance, with only 0.51″ below average, again, before today.  Rain today is on the leading edge of another in a successions of cool downs. This one may spark a round of thunder tonight as colder air moves in.  Radar simulation is below…

The next item of interest will be over the weekend:  The Baltimore Running Festival. The outlook does show rain, but there is some glimmer of hope. Yesterday it looked like a strong storm but that is less impressive on the modeling now. I do expect seem fluctuation with how the energy is handled, so I would keep checking back as I will have a focus on Saturday morning’s time frame all week.

Another thing I will focus on is snow for western Maryland. Cold air and Lake Effect Snow is likely Saturday night into Sunday morning. I may plan a trip out west to chase it down for you. FITF
