September 14 2018

Hurricane Florence was 25 miles from Wilmington NC at 5 AM. That means the eye was still offshore, but getting closer. The top winds were down to 90 mph, making this a Category 1 however the ocean still carries the wave memory of a stronger storm making for major flood problems remaining in the southeast.  They are still expecting a range of 15 to 40 inches of rain, in part due to the slow movement. On the north side, some showers have reached Maryland and Delaware this morning, but the winds are not much more than a moderate Nor’Easter.

Here is a look at what we can expect locally today. I still expect a nice weekend gradually expanding from north to south. Then we get some rain on the curve and pass through of the remnant Low next Monday and Tuesday.
