June 1 2018

Today is the start of meteorological summer and hurricane season. But, once again we have low visibility across our area that is the focus. That is just the result of too much moisture in the air, and as it hats up we will feel the stickiness in the air this afternoon. The heat index will be a factor, but after the morning threshold for area schools to act. We need to just stick it out.   While a few thunderstorms may develop this afternoon, the weekend rain is the big story will be new Low Pressure will form over Delmarva. Some heavy rain, plus winds off the ocean will hold out temps back in the 60s by Sunday.

Rain Saturday

If you are making plans, the best threat of rain and storms will be developing after noon. So the morning should be OK (for most). But by evening most of us will be dealing with storms or watching them knocking on our doorstep.

Satellite Set Up

We have a lot of moisture in place that is moving our way slowly from the Mississippi Valley. This will settle in and redevelop Low Pressure over southern Delmarva this weekend.
