A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for our region until 1 AM. But first, there is a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in much of Southern Pennsylvania and northern Delaware, This line developing in Pennsylvania will be sliding to the south slowly this evening. What is interesting and will be fascinating to watch will be the interaction of the line of storms with tropical moisture feeding our way from Florida. They will meet right over central Maryland and flare up a large band of heavy rain that will then move back north and last much of the night.

Check out the latest loops and the new radar simulation timeline.  Flooding is the main issue as some places could see between 1 and 3 inches of rain.

At 4 PM, the line os storms in Pennsylvania was just getting going and approaching York County. From the south, the storms in western Virginia where also just firing up.  These two clusters will be merging this evening.

Between 5 PM and 8 PM we should see the extent of that storm line dropping south from Pennsylvania. Then we see the influence of the Southern flow feeding into the line and expanding the rain after 10 PM. Heavy rain should fall most of tonight. That is why we have a Flash Flood Watch.
