The Storm Prediction Center has increased our risk for severe storms today. The timing of the storms has sped up a little to act at prime heating of the day. The timeline has sped up a little to include most of the metro areas between 2 PM and 6 PM.  A few showers and storms are possible later this morning, then we will see the main event in the afternoon.  The primary threat will be wind gusts of 60 mph and large hail over 1 inch in diameter. Any storm can contain dangerous lightning, please be cautious in after school or other outdoor events. See the updated radar simulation below.

This weekend will still bring us near 90ºF on Saturday followed by a chance of showers or storms Saturday night into Mothers Day.

High Temperatures Today

Weekend Storms and Rain

Saturday is expected to bring us close to 90ºF. That will feed into an approaching cold front and develop strong afternoons storms. This loop time is from Saturday evening past midnight Sunday/Monday morning. Mothers Day may not be a full washout, but will have showers and some storms around.

Temperature Outlook

The hottest day of the week will be followed by the coolest day of the week. Saturday may reach the lower 90s as temps crash Mothers Day. However this now holds in the lower 70s with showers and some storms.
