Thursday Aug 17
Today will be warm and humid. Temps reach the upper 80s but will feel like the lower 90s. Even hotter tomorrow feeling like 100ºF, but then nicer this weekend. A few showers will pop up today, but the greatest chance will be in southern Maryland and west in to the mountains. Just and isolated shower or two mid afternoon locally. If you get under one, it could linger for s while with little push in the atmosphere to move it. There will be a lot more push tomorrow.
Friday will bring a cold front with a more distinct line of storms, that will eventually clear us out for the weekend. We can thank strengthening Hurricane Gert for that. It has winds of 100 mph and is racing out into the North Atlantic at 39 mph… helping our weather pattern to flow faster as well.

Get the award winning Kid Weather App I made with my oldest son and support our love for science, weather, and technology. Our 3 year anniversary of the release and our contribution to STEM education is this November. It has been downloaded in 60 countries, and works in both temperature scales. With your support we can expand on the fun introduction to science and real weather.
